The Witham Hub has had a bumper prize-winning weekend. On Saturday night (21st October) Hub Trustees Tina Townsend and Karen Bailey attended the annual Witham Carnival prize-giving at Spring Lodge Community Centre and were presented with the trophy for best decorated private vehicle in the Carnival Parade by 2023/24 Carnival Queen, Charlie Webster. The Carnival took place on 8th July and the theme was ‘On Safari’.
On Sunday (22nd October), at the Witham Mayor’s Civic Awards held at the United Reform Church, Tina and the team from The Witham Hub were presented with the community award for a major contribution to the community by Witham Town Mayor, Cllr Susan Ager.
Commenting on The Hub’s prize-winning weekend, Tina Townsend, Chair of The Witham Hub Trustees said: “I am always extremely proud when the Hub is recognised for its achievements. It goes without saying that it is testament to the amazing team of Trustees, staff, and volunteers, both past and present who work incredibly hard to help everyone who needs us. It is slightly sad that we are still in so much demand but we are very thankful that we can be there to help those who need our support.”
