Hub Chair wins Pride of Essex Community Champion Award

Tina Townsend, Chair and founder of the Witham and Braintree Hubs is the recipient of the Essex Community Champion Award 2025.  Tina accepted the award certificate and trophy at a special ceremony held by Pride of Essex at Anglia Ruskin University on 14th October

The Pride of Essex Awards were established to honour the unsung heroes of Essex, Southend and Thurrock.  They recognise acts of kindness, bravery, and community spirit. The Community Champion award is for individuals or groups who put the needs of others before themselves, raising funds for charity and recognises the difference they make to the community.

Commenting after the ceremony, Tina said: “I am genuinely humbled to receive this award and it means more to me than I can put into words.  A heartfelt thank you to the person who nominated me.  Your belief in the work I do at the Witham and Braintree Hubs and in my other volunteering jobs has been my inspiration and I am immensely grateful for your help and support.  My thanks also to the judges who had the difficult task of choosing a winner from a group of very deserving nominees who all do fantastic work in their communities.

“This isn’t just a personal milestone for me, it also reflects the hard work of everyone who volunteers, advocates and supports each other at our Hubs in Witham and Braintree.”
