The Witham Hub has extended its support to the Hatfield Road Estate by donating a new defibrillator, which has been installed on the Premier Shop in Wulvesford. The defibrillator was donated by Executive UK Group and The Witham Hub will act as its custodians.
This initiative was taken after local resident Dean Wells raised concerns about the limited amount of life-saving equipment in the area. Scott Foord, the Director of Executive UK Group recently attended a first aid course, which inspired him to support the initiative. The Premier Shop has graciously allowed the unit to be placed on their building, and relevant permissions have been obtained.
Scott Said “The Witham Hub is a fantastic charity that has the community at heart, and this latest initiative underscores its commitment to local people, yet again and I’m proud to support it.”
Tina Townsend, Chair and Founder of The Witham Hub said: “The Hub is already the custodian of two defibrillators in the Town Centre and is delighted to extend its support to the Hatfield Road Estate. We can never have enough defibrillators, so we are more than happy to facilitate this and to ensure a vital piece of equipment is available to anyone who needs it, in potentially life threatening situations.”
Dean Wells said: “I posted my concerns about the lack of cover on our estate on social media and was immediately contacted by Tina, She was amazing and took care of all the details and liaison needed to get the defibrillator installed. None of us ever want to use it but knowing it is there gives us all bit of comfort. Thank you Tina and The Witham Hub.”
