Youth Division receive High Sheriff Awards

On 31st December Lillian Tighe and Madison Loughnane were presented with High Sheriff Awards by Nick Alston CBE DL the 842nd High Sheriff of Essex.

The event was set up by Tina Townsend who nominated both girls for their outstanding contribution to the Hub.

Lillian who joined the hub as a volunteer when she was doing her Duke of Edinburgh award and has continued to support the hub on the weekly collection and helps with other volunteering when school allows.  Lillian was also the recipent of the Inspirational Role Model of the Year – Highly Commended in Braintree District earlier in the Year, Tina said ‘Lillian only needed to completed 3 months of volunteering but she continues to come along every week come rain or shine and is great company, especially on the winter nights when its cold and wet.

Madison Loughnane
Madison set up a Youth Cafe that runs alternate Saturdays at the Hub.  As part of this she decides what the activities will be and supervises whoever turns up.  It also includes all the clearing up too!  Madison was the recipient of the Jack Petchy Award this year and is a real credit to the Hub volunteering on weeks when the cafe is not running too.  Tina said, Madison is great with all ages and gets all the kids involved, she has shows a real flare for organising and shows great organisational skills.

Tina added, all our Youth Division are a credit to the Hub and we expect that more of them will be receiving awards in the years to come, on behalf of the trustees, I would like to say how extremely proud we are of all of them, they are a credit to their families, to the Hub and to the Town
